Are you ready to become a hero in sensible shoes?
At Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton, we believe that retirement should come with more perks than just a free bus pass and the ability to nap anywhere, anytime. We’re on the hunt for a Benefits Advice and Support Officer—a champion of paperwork, a wizard of welfare, and a friendly face for those who need it most.
Your mission (should you choose to accept it):

· Offer confidential, accurate advice—no jargon, just plain English and a smile.
· Assist with applications and benefit checks.
· Build bridges with local agencies and spread the word about our service.
· Help us secure funding so we can continue making a difference, one pension credit at a time.
What we’re looking for:
· Experience in welfare benefits advice or similar support services
· A strong understanding of benefits for older people (Pension Credit, Attendance Allowance, Housing Benefit, Council Tax, TV License, Travel Passes—you get the idea).
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently (and occasionally as part of a team that loves tea and biscuits).
· Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding principles.
Why join us?
· Make a real difference in the lives of older people—help them feel supported, valued, and financially secure.
· Work in a supportive, flexible environment where your expertise is celebrated,
· Gain valuable experience in advice services and fundraising—perfect for your CV and your sense of purpose.
· Enjoy flexible working arrangements and a team that understands the importance of work-life balance.
